The PRESERVE™
50+ Protocol

A 90-day creatine + GLP-1 framework for adults preserving muscle through weight loss.

Version 1.0 · 2026

Welcome.

If you're reading this, you've already done two things.

You started a GLP-1 medication — Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, or Zepbound® — because something needed to change. And you ordered PRESERVE™ because someone, somewhere, told you that wasn't the whole story.

They were right.

The next 90 days matter more than you think. People who follow a simple, structured protocol during their GLP-1 journey come out of it stronger, more energetic, and more themselves than people who only focus on the scale.

This guide is the protocol. It's short on purpose.

Your job is to take three gummies a day, move your body in five small ways, and eat enough protein. That's it.

— The PRESERVE™ team

~40%

of weight lost on GLP-1 can come from muscle, not fat — especially in adults over 50.

Dr. Melanie Haines, Harvard / Endocrine Society 2025

Why this matters

When calorie intake drops 40-60% (the normal GLP-1 effect), your body pulls fuel from both fat and muscle. For adults 50+, who already lose 3-8% of muscle per decade, this gets accelerated.

You feel it as:

  • The 2pm crash
  • A weaker grip — pickle jars, suitcases
  • Stairs becoming an event
  • Brain fog in the afternoon
  • Recovery taking longer

Your doctor probably never mentioned this. That's the gap PRESERVE™ was built to fill.

THE DAILY PROTOCOL

3 gummies. Once a day.
Morning. With coffee or water.

That's it.

Each PRESERVE™ gummy contains pharmaceutical-grade creatine monohydrate. Three gummies = 5 grams, the clinically established daily dose. Studies up to 20g/day show no additional benefit beyond 5g.

Why morning?

Habit anchoring. Morning routines stick. Evening supplements are the most-forgotten supplements in the world.

Cortisol cycle. Your cortisol peaks shortly after waking. Pairing creatine with that natural energy peak supports your most active hours.

No loading phase

Old bodybuilding protocols had you take 20g/day for a week. That's unnecessary at our dose. The slow saturation over 21-28 days is equally effective, with no bloat.

If you miss a day

Take 3 gummies the next morning as usual. Don't double up. One missed day won't undo your progress.

Week by week

Weeks 1–2

Saturation phase. Most people feel little change. Be patient — creatine works by gradually saturating muscle cells.

Weeks 3–4

The first shift. About 70% of patients notice the 2pm crash get shorter or disappear. Brain fog often lifts in parallel.

Weeks 5–8

Measurable strength. Grip improves. Stairs feel easier. Recovery shortens. Most patients stop wondering if it's working.

Weeks 9–12

Muscle preservation becomes meaningful. Body composition stabilizes. If you DEXA scan, this is when results show up.

The 5 movements

No gym. No weights. No trainer. Two sessions a week.

  1. Sit-to-Stand From a chair, stand up without using hands. 10 reps Ă— 2 sets.
  2. Wall Push-Up Hands on wall, step back, lower chest toward wall. 10 reps Ă— 2 sets.
  3. Doorframe Row Grab a doorframe, lean back, pull yourself up. 10 reps Ă— 2 sets.
  4. Static Lunge Step one foot back, lower to 90°, stand. 8 per leg × 2 sets.
  5. Calf Raise Onto toes, then down. 15 reps Ă— 2 sets.

Add a 20-minute walk on the days you don't do the 5 movements. Total time: about 2 hours per week.

Protein, the honest number

Single biggest mistake we see: not eating enough protein. Easy to understand — when appetite is suppressed by 40-60%, getting enough food at all is hard.

Your target:
0.55–0.75 g of protein per pound, daily.

Quick reference:

  • 130 lb → 71–94 g/day
  • 150 lb → 82–109 g/day
  • 170 lb → 93–123 g/day
  • 190 lb → 103–138 g/day

A protein shake counts. When food sits heavy in your stomach, a clean whey or plant-based shake is often the only realistic way to hit your number.

Hydration

GLP-1 patients dehydrate faster than they realize.

Daily target:
Half an ounce of water per pound of body weight.

160 lb → ~80 oz/day (2.4 L). Add more for hot weather, exercise days, or the first 30 days on a new GLP-1 dose.

Daily electrolyte mix

One large glass of water · ¼ tsp sea salt · squeeze of lemon · optional 1 tsp honey. Mid-morning.

Don't weigh. Measure.

The scale tells you weight loss. It doesn't tell you what kind.

Four free home tests, every 2 weeks:

  1. Grip strength — $25 dynamometer on Amazon. Squeeze each hand 3×, record the high.
  2. 30-second sit-to-stand — count standups in 30 seconds. Below 8 for 70+ years olds warrants a doctor conversation.
  3. Waist circumference — tape measure at navel.
  4. Stair time — brisk walk up one flight, time yourself.

If you have access to a DEXA scan, do one at week 0 and week 12. Gold standard for what's actually happening to your body composition.

When to call your doctor

Stop the supplement and call your doctor if you experience:

  • Severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea > 24h
  • Unexplained chest pain or shortness of breath
  • Swelling beyond normal in legs/ankles/feet
  • Persistent darker urine > 2 days
  • Severe headaches or sudden vision changes
  • Any allergic reaction within 30 min of taking

These symptoms are almost never caused by creatine — they're more likely related to your GLP-1 or another factor. But require medical evaluation regardless.

Quick answers

"I missed a day. Starting over?"

No. One day won't undo progress. Take next morning's dose as usual.

"Plateau after 3 weeks. Why?"

Normal. First wave: weeks 3-4. Second wave: weeks 8-12 (muscle composition). Middle weeks feel like plateau because you're saturated.

"Take more than 3 gummies?"

No benefit beyond 5g. Stick with 3.

"On empty stomach OK?"

Yes. Gummies absorb fine with or without food.

"Not on a GLP-1. Should I take it?"

If you're 50+ and want to preserve muscle, yes. Creatine for sarcopenia is well-studied independently of GLP-1.

"How do I cancel my subscription?"
